

To protect our passengers from unfortunate misunderstandings on their return to Italy, we provide the following information regarding customs regulations currently in force in Italy.
Consumable goods
Exemption from customs duties for objects and consumer goods imported by travellers from abroad is valid for articles of personal, non-commercial use up to the total value of €180. For passengers under 15 years of age the limit is reduced to €90.
Warning: free import of certain categories of goods is only permitted in limited quantities as indicated below (and exemption is valid for only one article in each category):
cigarettes: 200g.
cigarillos: 100g.
cigars: 50g.
tobacco: 250g.
distilled and alcoholic beverages over 22% vol., ethyl alcohol of 80% vol. or more: 1 litre
distilled and alcoholic beverages not exceeding 22% vol.: 2 litres
sparkling wine, dessert wine: 2 litres
still wine: 2 litres
perfume in general: 50g.
eau de toilette: 250ml
coffee: 500g.
coffee extracts or essence: 200g.
tea: 100g.
Quantities in excess must be declared and shall be subject to customs duties.
Protected species
It is forbidden to import animals and articles derived from animals protected by the Washington Convention such as ivory, furs, skin articles, coral, unless accompanied by a CITES certificate issued by the customs authorities of the country of origin. The same rules apply for parrots, snakes, lizards, aquatic turtles, monkeys and certain types of birds and aquarium fish. It is absolutely forbidden to import spotted animal furs (cheetah, leopard and ocelot). Protected plants (for example cactus and orchids) can only be imported if a certificate issued by the authorities of the country of origin is displayed.
